- A NOTE TO WINDOWS USERS
-
- KIDDisk is Windows-friendly! To install KIDDisk
- in Microsoft Windows version 3.0 or 3.1:
-
- 1. Copy the files from this disk to a sub-directory of your
- choice on your hard disk, (C:\KIDDISK for instance).
-
- 2. Start Windows (PROGRAM MANAGER) and click the top of the
- main window (program group) in which you want to include
- KIDDisk, to activate the group.
-
- 3. Select NEW from the FILE menu. Select "Program Item" and
- then click on OK. For Program Description type: KIDDisk.
- For Command Line type: C:\YOURDIRECTORY\GO.EXE
- where C: is your hard disk, and YOURDIRECTORY is the
- subdirectory in which you have copied the KIDDisk files
- (C:\KIDDisk\GO.EXE for instance). Leave the "Working
- Directory" box blank. Then click on CHANGE ICON. You will
- get a message saying "No icons available . . .", just click
- on OK and then in the ICON file box type
- C:\YOURDIRECTORY\KD.ICO
- And that's it. If you are not experienced with Windows, you
- may have to try it a couple of times to get everything right.
- After installation you can simply double click on the KIDDisk
- icon to start the program.

- MOUSE
-
- Some users have reported confusion about using DOS-capable
- programs from within Windows with a mouse. Windows provides
- it's own mouse driver, but this does not extend to DOS
- programs run from within Windows. Therefore, you must load
- your DOS-based mouse driver before running Windows.
- MOUSE.EXE (or something similar) should appear in your
- AUTOEXEC.BAT file before WIN, or your mouse driver should be
- on a line in your CONFIG.SYS file.
